About
Amancio's is a family-run wood-fired pizzeria in Jacó, and the family often comes out to welcome you with a handshake. Reviewers single out the dough and sauce — fresh, well-made, holding up under generous toppings like the Hawaiian with prosciutto — and it's a genuine standout for gluten-free diners, with a house GF dough people go out of their way to praise. Friendly, walkable, and easy to recommend for dinner.

Have always seen this place when we are in Jaco and never tried until this trip. I'm so happy we did because the food is phenomenal!!! All four dishes we tried were cooked to perfection. We decided to dine outside as the weather was nice and the service here is great. Along with our server, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Please do yourselves a favor and try Amancio's, you will love it!!!
I just had the most incredible experience at this pizza shop that I have to share. I was flying in from out of town after a long, exhausting day of travel—delayed flights, rushing through the airport, the works. By the time I landed and grabbed a ride, it was getting late, and I was absolutely starving. Nothing sounded better than a hot, fresh pizza, but most places were already closed or closing soon. I spotted this cozy little pizza shop with the lights still on and dashed in literally minutes before their posted closing time. I was breathless, apologetic, and honestly expecting them to turn me away—after all, the staff had every right to lock up and head home after a long shift. But no. The team there—smiling, welcoming, and genuinely kind—said, “No problem at all! What can we make for you?” They fired up the oven without hesitation and crafted two perfect pizzas to go: one classic pepperoni with that crispy, bubbly cheese, and another loaded with fresh veggies and sauce that was pure perfection. The crust was golden and chewy, the toppings generous and flavorful—easily some of the best pizza I’ve had in years. They didn’t rush me, didn’t make me feel like a burden; they just went above and beyond to make sure this weary traveler didn’t go hungry. In a world where customer service can feel transactional, this place reminded me what real hospitality looks like. Small acts of kindness like staying open a bit longer can make someone’s entire day (or trip!). If you’re looking for not just amazing pizza but a spot run by truly wonderful people, this is it. I’ll be dreaming about those pies until my next visit—and I’ll definitely plan my flights around their hours from now on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Holy wow was that ever the best pizza I have had in a long long time. The fresh ingredients were so good and the sauce and doe was incredible. So happy we stopped by here on the walk home.
