Amapola Resort

Besides the restaurant waitresses (I don’t recall her name) and the bellman (I believe his name is Max), all other hotel staff seemed to be doing us a favor when we asked for information. The room’s back door didn’t lock at all, I had to move the fridge (by the way, it wasn’t working) to keep it “secured”. Location is very convenient, close to the main road. Breakfast is a one-size meal. They offer two menus: American and Costa Rican style. They. It'snot “all you can eat”, and they charge for any additional items or changes you have.

I stayed with my wife on 30 March 2025. Visiting from San Antonio, Texas. Hotel is in an excellent location. Service from the front desk is also excellent. Restaurant next door was very good. It is not a new hotel but facilities are kept clean. Our only complaint is the location of the toilet inside the bathroom. It was very hard to use because there was very limited space in one side was almost against the wall and in the other side was against the glass wall of the shower. If I could post a picture I would. They need to at least remove the glass shower panel to make the toilet completely serviceable for humans.

...DON'T EVEN COME HERE! we booked a two night stay here. Got here waited a little over 30 minutes for somebody to check us in. vary slow one person behind the desk with 9 people waiting for assistance then they told us that there is only one person on the reservation and asked us to pay additional 388 for the other person for the same room because we are a couple which doesn't make any sense so we haggled them for a 1 ½hr and got only 30% off and we also asked about getting reimbursed and going somewhere else but there is a zero refund apparently so now it's been a little over 2 hours no one told us where our room was or told us anything about the facility found our room. And let me tell you very dated old room with /broken furniture /bath room door doesn't close without pulling really hard / washroom reeks of mold /rusty moldy fridge /no hair dryer /hot water doesn't work /the toilet you need two hands on the lever, pushing down to make it flush SO STIFF! The property as a whole just seems poor maintenance neglected pool and to top it off with rude service. The next morning, we woke up to go down for breakfast, so let hope they can't mess this up. Got our food (bland wet bread cold eggs) sat down plus side was there was decent coffee and half way through our breakfast the restaurant manager came up and told us to go to reception because our breakfast wasn't included in our already insane price my wife is crying at this point in public infront of others. Go to reception they were no help at all, and they wouldn't give us an answer on why or how this is even possible for paying this amount for so little. The restaurant person that was helping us gave us a brake and gave us a little discount, but still, this is ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed. So if you're reading this, please go somewhere else that will actually appreciate your time and money you spent on your trip and not be so rude and ingnorant as we are being treated.
