Cafetería Océano is a beachside coffee shop in Jacó where the view and the welcome do the heavy lifting. Owner Raquel gets named over and over — guests describe being treated like family and making it their daily ritual — and server Tatiana is a favorite too. Order the Tico Bowl with bacon and a pineapple–passion-fruit juice, and if you're around on a Sunday, the brunch draws special praise.

My girl friends and I stopped here on our way into town from the beach and absolutely loved it! We each got food and smoothies, everything was fresh and delicious. If we had found this spot before our last day here we would have been back several times.
Raquel is a wonderful host and owner. She is very friendly and engaging. She goes out f her way to make sure you’re taken care of. Will return anytime I’m in Jaco.

The owner treated us like family from day one, always greeting us with a smile and genuine conversation. Sunday brunch was absolutely top notch—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love.
