Be careful! If you are on a budget, maybe Juco is where you splurge. This hostel had a pillow topper for a mattress … it felt like sleeping on the floor. The private room didn’t have any ventilation and we paid for AC but it doesn’t work, no fans; people stayed up past midnight talking outside the rooms. Other than that, the kitchen is great and the staff are friendly — mellow and chill hostel. If you use a moto, you can park it inside the facility, no other parking available. We paid $30 for a private room and I heard the dorms are $15.

At Casa Bohío Surf we were greeted by our host Sebastian and his lovely dog Beeto! It’s a sweet little hostel with a good vibe - the best in town I would say! Best value for money certainly :) So if you‘re on a budget and are looking for chill people to hang out with, this is the place! Thanks Seb for the lovely time! Ps: you’ll find this hidden gem if you walk past the Japanese Restaurant Arigato into a courtyard with parked cars.

This is honestly the best deal you’ll find in Jacó - financially, atmosphere-wise, and when it comes to location. I know because I’ve looked through all the options and had time to talk to travelers staying at different hostels around town during my five-week stay. It’s a small and cozy place that almost feels like home, so if you manage to get a spot, consider yourself lucky - but if you do, you’re in for a great time! :) I saw people who had to move out because it was fully booked, but they still came back during the day just to hang out. That’s how much people love it. And let’s not forget - there’s Betho the dog. The best part. 💛
