Absolutely fantastic experience at Damo Surf Camp! The instructors are amazingly dedicated and professional. Their attention to detail, from the warm-up and breathing exercises before hitting the waves—made all the difference. Thanks to their guidance, I smoothly transitioned from soft to hardboard in my very first surf season. Surfing has become an absolute blast! Highly recommend

Damo, Ron, and Cesar are exceptional surfers and coaches, who genuinely want you to succeed in the lessons. I learned so much from them about surfing technique, how to paddle out, how to turn the board, and how to time waves! Unforgettable experience! Ivo also takes amazing surf pics! The hostel was so welcoming and the vibe was positive and uplifting! The food was also delish! I will return, and highly recommend the surf school and hostel if you are in Jaco (PS. It’s right on the beach, and you get to see epic sunsets every evening!)

I truly cannot say enough great things about Damo Surf School & Camp. From the very first day, this camp felt like family. The attention to detail from all of the instructors is truly captivating. They work with your own skill level and help you gain the confidence to improve daily. During every lesson I could physically and mentally see myself overcome challenges through their guidance and helpful tips. The instructors at Damo surf camp and the employees at R2B are truly friendly people with beautiful hearts. This camp is an absolute must for anyone looking to advance in their surf, heal from trauma or even just relax with an incredible group of people. The waves are beginner friendly in the summer and get bigger for the winter. The communication and accommodation from everyone at the camp and the hostel is top notch. 10/10 recommendation.
