El Zarpe

We stayed for a week and spent a lot of time at the pool. The quality of the food at El Zarpe was OUTSTANDING! Frankly, way better than I expected for a poolside bar/restaurant. The service was super friendly and prompt. My drinks kept being magically refilled! 😉. And the pool is clean and chairs and umbrellas are plentiful. It never felt crowded. And the beach is steps away. We enjoyed sunsets and a beach bonfire. I suggest you consider staying here. We will be back.

The actual resort and pools are great and well maintained. The service isnt great from the checkin being slow and difficult, to trying to get a drink at the pool or casino. But really the low-low point is the food. Looks like they've reset their restaurant review profile as there are only a very few revies of the restaurants here but the food is quite terrible. Extremely bland, strangely put together and over priced. We tried a few different things, trying to give the benefit of the doubt but even just the wings were disgusting. Come for the pool, but go elsewhere for the food for sure, don't waste your money on that here.

I love the surf and turf and Mojitos. Chili guaro and pina coladas by the pool are also a must.
