About
An American-style steakhouse run by a Minnesota owner, with Texas-shaped butter and a full steak menu at premium prices. Opinions are genuinely split: some travelers call the steaks high quality and the staff warm and accommodating, while others found their cuts cold or unevenly cooked on a busy night. The smoothie and the potato-based sides draw the most consistent praise.

Pros: Staff was nice and very accommodating for our large party. Table and restaurant were clean. Owner was on site and pleasant and conversational. Smoothie was incredible. Cons: our appetizer of tuna tartare I wouldn't call a tartare. Tuna was in chunks and did not have any egg. 3 of our main dishes came out cold and unevenly cooked/undercooked (raw in certain parts of the steak). I ordered the $85 ribeye and received an unseared, undercooked greasy piece of meat. The seasoning did not appeal to me personally, and as a Texas resident I would not classify this meal as Texas style. The side of grilled vegetables came with one slice of each carrot, cucumber and tomato. All were either underseasoned or not seasoned at all and thrown on a grill, tasting like burnt food. The mashed potatoes were okay, just mashed potatoes with cheap cheese on top. Grossly overpriced for the quality of food. Would rather go to an Outback steakhouse
My group and I were sadly very disappointed in our experience. Food overall was pretty pricey for what it was. Several of our steaks came out cold AND undercooked. Grilled vegetables consisted of 2-3 pieces of undercooked zucchini, carrot, and a tomato. Potato based sides and chips were good! Possibly was one of the better tasting items of the night. Service was great and reminds me of typical American hospitality, which makes sense because the owner is from Minnesota. It might be because it's an American restaurant, but we expected our food to come at a more timely pace instead of waiting about 45 min just to have 1 entrée within our group arrive. We happened to be there on valentine's day when everywhere else was booked and got seated pretty quickly. Maybe that should've been a sign of how empty the place was to accommodate my larger group. I'm hoping it was just a bad day for the restaurant, but the current high rating feels misleading and undeserved.
The best steakhouse in Jaco! The steaks are high quality and cooked to perfection. The drinks, the atmosphere and the staff are top notch, i’d recommend this place to anyone. It’s small inside plus there’s outdoor seating.
