Hicaco Plaza Jacó

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The staff were amazing and attentive. I ordered the seafood soup as an appetizer and the salmon as my entree.My girlfriend had empanadas which were really flavorful.The food was good and margaritas were good. I ate all of my seafood soup and took my salmon to go. The issue came about 2 hours after we got home. I got food poisoning and was throwing up for hours throughout the night. It would not stop until all of the seafood soup was out of my system. I threw up over 10 times. I was so disappointed because the soup was so good and did not expect that. I was afraid to eat the salmon so I end up throwing it in the trash. Maybe something was mishandled during the cooking process.

I’m doing a short review here as I did an in-depth on Open Table. Save your money. Poor service, incorrect orders, sub-par food. The only plus was the assistant Jose – he was friendly, attentive and cared about my service – unlike the rest of the staff. In fact, he apologized for things that weren’t in his control! I hope another restaurant snaps him up! Bottom line - soup, a drink, two wasted hours and $50 bucks equals, I won’t be back. Interesting - my review is not showing up across Google. I've checked multiple sources.

This food as SUPER good! It was the hubby's first time in Costa Rica and I knew this place would HIT, and it did not fail me. We went with a group of 7 people and no one was disappointed. Like most places in CR the service was great and the vibe was lit, I will be back to Jaco whenever I am in the country for sure! 10/10!
