Hotel Club Del Mar

My husband & I along with our adult son stayed here during the OFF SEASON of 2025. Prices were lower and there were hardly any visitors. Our experience at Club Del Mar exceeded our expectations. We occupied one of their two penthouses. Our penthouse was a fully equipped apartment. Suites on opposite ends with kitchen, dining area, seating area in the middle. A covered balcony the length of the unit with beautiful views overlooking the property, ocean and downtown buildings. We could walk from our room to the beach in a few minutes. This is not a luxurious hotel, but it is a very charming, clean, comfortable, place to stay for an authentic Costa Rican experience. The tropical landscape is beautifully manicured and the service workers are attentive and kind. To my delight I saw a resident iguana and several colorful birds on the property. The hotel has 24/7, gated security service and security cameras around the buildings perimeter. I’m mentioning this because safety was a concern of mine when searching for our accommodations in CR. I felt totally safe here. The location was perfect… just off the beaten path from downtown. It’s secluded but not isolated. The noise from trucks passing the hotel is annoying, but not unbearable. My spa treatment was so so. Don’t waste your money on the package deal. The message and facial will suffice. We ate at the hotel a few times. It too was so, so. We’d rented a car and preferred eating in town. I spent one day lounging by the pool… ate lunch had drinks, nice. I got up at 6am a few mornings and walked the beach, very nice. I strongly recommend staying here, but note that ny experience is during the off season.

We actually stayed at a house rental directly across the road from Club Del Mar. With the location being on the busy Highway, we had to Uber whenever we wanted to go into Jaco proper for shopping and restaurants. The Club Del Mar was such a nice place for us to walk over for drinks, meals and spa treats. The staff could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to us even though we were not their guests as such. I’ll definitely consider booking here in the future, as it is small, yet very quality oriented all around. One of the owners visited our table and personally welcomed our visit, which was very nice 😊

We've stayed here 4 times in the last 4 years. Resort is fabulous. Great food. Rooms are very clean and service has been fantastic. The only drawback for us is that it's just far enough from town that we need transportation to shop or see things. Not a problem for people with cars.
