Hotel Girasol Jaco

Very affordable for a family of 4 (including 1 kid and a toddler). Great customer service, very friendly. Clean pool with a large umbrella. Close to the beach and outside showers. Outside chairs to look at the sunset. Has a lot of amenities to make your own meals and coffee. Things that could be improved: Faster communication through WhatsApp. No Wifi access was provided. Appliances maintenance (coffe maker filter was broken and fridge had a water leak). AC only in the main room and one of the living room fans was not functioning properly. Dish soap dispenser was empty. Side bed night lamp didn’t work. Besides these small details, we will consider returning to this lovely place.

Excellent location right next to the beach with parking and off the main road. Rooms are spacious and the pool is warm! Restaurants and stores walkable. Highly recommend!

My husband and I came to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We stayed at this beautiful hotel. We were welcomed with a wonderful surprise that our room was upgraded given that we were there for our honeymoon. We were so grateful! Our room was equipped with a big fridge, kettle, microwave, etc. Beach, shower, face and hand towels were available. Big couches and many places to sit. The beach was in your backyard which was a big plus. The hotel is located in a prime location. The room has a TV but the remote was nowhere to be found, unsure if it was for decor or if it was meant to work for guests. Some feedback for the hotel: • It would be great to better equip the security staff with keys to rooms and training them to check in guests. The second time we stayed here, we had to wait a while to be able to get checked in plus we had to wait for the room to be ready. • Second time we stayed in, the room did not have any hand and face towels. Please ensure that even when getting the room ready in a rush, that the room has all essentials. • The soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower did not work, we had to buy our own. I'd suggest checking on this to ensure your guests don't have to spend $ on these things. • Please equip your rooms with coffee, creamers, sugar, tea, these are such simple add ons that can make a huuuuge difference! Having a coffee in the morning on the balcony would have been great! • I had no communication with the staff at all until the second time we stayed here. It would be great to get all details about our stay via WhatsApp like we've experienced on every other hotels. It just gets guests well set up and informed about amenities, room readiness and ability to quickly ask for anything that is needed. Otherwise stunning location, the garden was well kept, the ground keepers were friendly.
