Hotel Jaco

My wife and I had a wonderful week at hotel jaco. We wanted a relaxing, no stress vacation and hotel jaco delivered. We awoke to shady views of the pool, just steps from the open air restaurant where we had tasty breakfast looking at palm trees and breaking Pacific waves. Most mornings a lounge of iguanas appeared, sunning themselves, waiting for fruit snacks. The ocean temperature was perfect- you could just walk right in. The people of jaco were also friendly and honest. I lost my room key with the safe key in one of the stores. By the next morning it had been returned, saving me the $65 replacement fee.

Hotel Jaco is a great hotel — the rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I rated it 3 stars because during my recent visit, my friend and I stayed in the same room type for the same number of nights, yet we were charged different prices. I emailed the manager and was informed that their pricing updates automatically based on occupancy rates and reservation data from the past two years using an algorithm. While I understand dynamic pricing, the inconsistency was frustrating. Also, if you’re planning to book extracurricular activities, I recommend researching and booking directly with the tour companies. Hotels often mark up the prices. Overall, it’s a nice place to stay, but be mindful of the pricing structure.

This place exceeded our expectations. It was just what we needed for a large family vacation. Everything was clean. A minor apliance malfunction was corrected immediately. The proximity to restaurants and the beach was perfect for our group. I would like to highlight Rachel as being particularly helpful when we arrived and for days after. Everyone e in our group enjoyed our visit to Costa Rica in large part because of where we stayed.
