We worked with Christopher Kogel of Remax to find a beautiful place in the Ciudad del Mar neighbourhood of Jaco. 100% satisfied and will be using his services again in the future. There are a lot of options in Jaco: apartments on the beach closer to the club scene, family communities in the town, and more rural areas. Chris was a great help in narrowing down our options. Met him and he asked a few questions about our family and goals for buying a place in Costa Rica. The next day we had 4 viewings chosen to fit us. I told my family back in Canada, we'd include them in the viewings via Facetime but just for the best ones. Ended up Facetiming for all of the house viewings as they were all amazing options and contenders for the place to buy! In the process of buying and afterwards, Chris went way beyond what we expected. He showed us the best restaurants and surf spots, and sold us on Jaco (we were also considering Tamarindo) as the best fit for our family. After the sale, he guided us through setting up a bank account, getting internet installed, and switching the power account. All of those would have been much more difficult tasks without his directions. Chris is a star! We would use Remax and Chris again and I've already referred him to others.

When my husband I were thinking about purchasing a property in Jaco, we got connected to Tim Giannone. During our first scouting trip, Tim graciously showed us several properties of different sizes and types (condos, houses, multi-unit complexes) to give us a lay of the land. My favorite things about working with him were 1) how very knowledgeable he was - about how the properties would perform as rentals and how much any needed improvements would cost - and 2) how he did not put any pressure on us at all to buy anything. We were deeply grateful for both. Through an unfortunate series of events, we ended up buying a property through a different realtor. After several months of working with the other realtor, we were immensely unhappy with the process, and reached out to Tim for advice about how to proceed. Tim responded immediately, gave us clear next steps, and connected us with an incredible team of professionals that we have deeply enjoyed working with. We literally talk every week about how grateful we are for Tim, his network, and how gracious and helpful he has been through every part of the process. We truly cannot recommend him highly enough, and will never use another realtor in Costa Rica.
