About
A striking room for a nice dinner out in Jaco, built around the grill — the Picanha steak, the scallops, and the lamb and spinach raviolis come up again and again, with a bone-marrow starter and signature cocktails to open. Servers like Rene and Ramsus are attentive, and the kitchen has quietly accommodated vegan guests on short notice. A step up in price, and worth it for the occasion.

Wonderful dinner! Not only is the Resturant BEAUTIFUL but the food is equally amazing!!! We were served by Rene who was so kind and attentive. We had 2 of the signature cocktails which were light delicious and refreshing. They gave a beautiful little focaccia bread plate to start and we ordered the bone marrow with mushrooms as I am a huge fan and it did not disappoint especially with the bread. For the mains we did the spinach ravioli in a mushroom sauce which was delicious. The sauce was so creamy packed with mushroom flavor I highly recommend. The portion was also great and the ravioli very filling as they are large and had a nice balance of spinach and cheese. We also ordered the steak (Picanha cut) and it was perfectly cooked. We like our steaks rare and it was so nice and juicy inside seasoned with crunchy sail on the outside which made for beautiful pops of flavor. It is served with your choice of side and my husband got the mashed potatoes and they were also very very good lots of flavor and perfect paring with the meat! We are already planning to go back to try some other items as when we were there several other couples we know were there and they also were raving about the other dishes they tried. Specifically the scallops and the lamb ravioli. Defiantly go to Zelva if you are looking for a very nice dinner out in Jaco it is one of a kind!
We had a wonderful dinner at Zelva’s with family this week. The food was delicious and service amazing. The steaks, scallops, and bone marrow were particularly delicious and well-prepared. A shout out to the chef and everyone who bent over backwards to prepare a special meal for the one vegan diner at the table, with only 24 hours notice. It was beautifully done and also delicious. Thank you for a special evening!
The service and ambience were excellent however the food was sub par given their price point. We had the French onion soup which was good, the scallops which were way over salted, the steak tartar was all overpowered by capers and mustard and the beef carpacio was just ok. Heavy handed seasoning and sauces does balance against delicate flavors like tar tar and scallops. For dessert was creme broulé and it was also underwhelming. We had high hopes for this very lovely restaurant but likely wont go back
