Alamo/National/Enterprise Car Rental

Got scammed with insurance at this location. Told the person I did not want any added extras, gave him my card for the deposit, looked at the contract after leaving and saw additional insurance charges I declined. I emailed Alamo cr email during the rental period after I found out and they told me to kick rocks. Be aware of them. Edit: I was refunded after the fact, thank you to Ignacio for reviewing and adjusting.

I had a very disappointing experience with Alamo in La Fortuna. I rented a car a few weeks ago and paid a security deposit that was supposed to be refunded within 10 business days. As of today, I still have not received it. I contacted the office multiple times, and although Gerard repeatedly told me they were “working on it,” nothing was ever resolved. I felt ignored and left without any real support or progress. It has been incredibly frustrating, and I’ve now had to involve my bank to dispute the charge. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company due to the lack of communication and failure to return my deposit.

I want to thank Daniel and Edwin (I sincerely apologise if I’ve got your names incorrect) for their assistance in fixing and replacing my punctured tyre, as well as replacing a missing jack handle. Their service was truly fantastic—very helpful, polite, courteous, and efficient. I was in and out within 15 minutes. You are a credit to the company, and they are lucky to have you both representing them. Thank you again, David and Zara
