Aunty Arenal Lodge

Nice accommodation with excellent location. We could see the peak of the volcano on clear mornings from the hotel property. Just off the main road a bit. Seemed quiet, safe, and private. Close to a grocery store and right next to a small coffee/chocolate tour. Beautiful grounds with lots of plants. Pool is unheated. Rooms were basic but clean. We rented a two bedroom unit and that was plenty of space for our party of six. Parking was right outside the door which made luggage handling easy. Kitchen was equipped with all the basics. Owner was friendly. Breakfast was very good.

This place was beautiful and the owner was very welcoming. We nicknamed him Abuelo (Grandpa) he was an absolute sweetheart. He waited up for us nightly to close the gate which made us feel safe. The pools are beautiful. The rooms could use some updating and you could see a few bugs here and there (but hey you are in the mountains) they will whip you up a full breakfast for just $8! And you can find a chocolate and coffee tour right in the same vicinity. Overall this place was great! And I would stay again in the future!

We had a great experience booking at the very last minute, I wish maybe that they would have had card payment on site instead of needing sinpe or a link to make the payment. Besides that the breakfast was really good, we didn't use the pool, but they look amazing. The have a nice terrace above the pool really comfy. The rooms were clean, they had what we needed and the place is extremely safe. Best part, the views of arenal volcano
