Went to this branch to open an account. Winny went above and beyond to get everything sorted out for me. She was professional and kind. The bank is super clean and offers complementary water and coffee.

No issues with a US debit card. Used Google translate for the first few screens until a language option appeared. Received colones with a nominal fee and got my card back. Felt very secure doing so with a guard at the entrance. Pura vida!

As tourist I needed to change $50 notes to $20 & $10 notes. The whole process took about 30 minutes (25 minutes waiting) and they were very friendly and happy to help me. You do need your passport for security reasons and there was no charge to change the notes.
