About
Beerland is where La Fortuna goes for steak — the owner, Nelson, cooks like a chef and comes out to talk beer, and travelers rank the filet mignon and ribeye among the best they had in Costa Rica, at steakhouse quality without tourist prices. The burrata salad with fresh local burrata is a repeat favorite. Around 17 craft beers rotate on tap — the tamarind cider gets ordered again and again — with live music and games on the screens.

Hands down the best food in La Fortuna! Nelson, the owner, is truly an exceptional chef and an even better person. We had such a wonderful evening that we came back two more times during our visit. Beerland deserves recognition for having some of the most delicious food around—it felt like dining at a high-end steakhouse without the tourist prices. Absolutely outstanding.
While in La Fortuna, you must stop and visit Beerland. They offer many local Costa Rican Beers. I was fortunate enough to spend 3 weeks in La Fortuna and was able to "sample" all their choices. I also devoured their Filet Mignon and their pizza. The food was very well prepared. But what always brought me back besides the food and beer, were the staff. The owner was always stopping by to say hello and engage in conversation and the staff were super warm and friendly. We were there for the Super Bowl. They have several TV's for sports and their choice of background music was tasteful for all generations.
Pretty good beer selection, cute art and knowledgeable staff! The beer menu had very good details. The food menu isn’t very descriptive so we didn’t try anything but all the food coming out looked delicious! Edited: we went back for live music and the food. The burrata and rib eye were AMAZING!! Seriously, try the burrata, it’s everything you want it to be with crisp toast on the side. The ribeye was well seasoned and tender. The man playing the live music was entertaining and walked around the room.
