Casa del Rio

Amazing!! This place was above and beyond what we expected! The grounds are lush and gorgeous yet well maintained. Our bungalow was located next to two pools, one of which has a beautiful water slide that our three old had so much fun on! The staff is kind and helpful and Everyone was so sweet with our two toddlers. The location is great. It’s right on the edge of town but when you are on property it feels like you’re in a secluded remote area, it’s perfect!

My friend and I stayed for two nights in February and had a great experience, despite the rainy weather. Everything looked as advertised. The included breakfast offered a selection of pastries, American and Costa Rican options with additional add-ons, along with coffee and juice, exactly what you would expect. While the design of the rooms aren’t necessarily my personal favorite, it was accurately represented online, which we appreciated. We had read previous reviews mentioning bugs, but we didn’t experience any issues ourselves. It’s also worth noting that the hotel is surrounded by real lush jungle greenery on a mountain, so it would have been more surprising not to encounter anything in such a natural setting. The staff were very welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised by how large the property is. It feels more like a jungle resort than just a hotel. The highlight for us was the outdoor tub on our balcony. Ours was partially covered, which was perfect in the rain. We simply opened a bottle of champagne and enjoyed our own private hot tub experience. We didn’t have dinner on-site, so we can’t comment on that. However, getting transportation to town is really easy and the property is very secure/gated if you’re driving. Overall, the staff were lovely, the room was as photographed, the property felt secure and private, and we had a great stay. All the best to the team :)

Anyone that has left this place less than 5 stars is out of their mind. Casa Del Rio is an incredible place to stay if you are looking to visit La Fortuna. The location is great, its tucked in a safe corner just outside the main square of the city. Maria and Katherine are such welcoming receptionist. They got us set up on WhatsApp and kept us updated with anything on the hotel. Gave us a tour and passed along ideas to do around the area. The restaurant team was great to. Diego, Carlos, Miguel, and I forgot his name (Cuban guy that made amazing mix fruit juices in the morning) always took care of us for breakfast or dinner. Food and drinks were good every time we went. The attendant team kept our room very clean and the grounds keepers keep the property so well maintained. The resort has beautiful pools, a pond with fish and a sports area to play games during your down time. Wouldn't stay anywhere else is La Fortuna. God bless the Casa Del Rio team 🤙
