About
Named for the taro root (malanga) that turns up in its best dishes — a taro mash one diner rated above mashed potatoes and a taro flan people rave about. The steak draws travelers in, the setting feels like fine dining without the price, and the 2-for-1 happy hour is a local favorite. Service is warm and attentive.

Casa Malanga was fabulous. We had heard from other travelers that they had great steak and service. This was true. Kevin and his team took really good care of us. A fine dining atmosphere that was also relaxing and reasonable priced. The taro root mash was better than mashed potatoes and the taro root flan was to die for. Thank you again for a lovely evening.
We came across this restaurant by accident and were really happily surprised. The food was fantastic and our server, Jesus, was friendly and fast. Definitely recommended!
Gerardo was phenomenal, the food and drinks were expertly crafted. I couldn’t rave more about this Costa Rican experience.
