About
Garden bungalows wrapped in plants and trees, each with outdoor seating for reading through La Fortuna's afternoon rain, though the metal roof makes that rain loud at night. Breakfast is plated and included at the on-site restaurant, where guests happily eat dinner too, and staff (manager Erick among them) get steady praise. It's on the main road, easy to find and quiet, but you'll want a car or taxi to get around.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay. The accommodation was very clean, quiet, and perfect for relaxation. A great advantage is the location – close to the city, yet situated in a peaceful area away from noise. The breakfasts were excellent, varied, and included in the price, which we truly appreciated. The staff were friendly, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, we rate our experience very positively and can highly recommend this accommodation.
Our experience was wonderful. We felt right at home. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, the food was delicious, the natural surroundings and the animals added a touch of magic to the place, the attention to detail was impeccable, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the location was good. Mr. Erick, the manager, was very attentive to our questions. It was our first time visiting Costa Rica, and communication was always excellent. We would definitely return.
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Tangara Arenal. I booked the bungalow option, and it was a great choice. The bungalow was surrounded by plants and trees, with outdoor seating perfect for relaxing or reading while it rained—and when it rains, it pours! The metal roof made the sound of the rain noticeable, but I found it soothing, like white noise. We visited during the wet season and had the usual afternoon showers, but it never bothered us. The room was spacious, with a smart TV, mini fridge, and work area. Even with another bungalow nearby, we barely saw or heard anyone. The hotel is easy to find on the main road to town. You’ll need a car or taxi to get around, but since we had a car, it was simple. Breakfast was included and served plated at the on-site restaurant—we ate there daily and also enjoyed dinner one evening. The food was tasty. The location felt safe and quiet, with a police station just a short distance away. The only area for improvement is the shower. The handheld showerhead didn’t have a holder, and there wasn’t space to set toiletries. Adding a mount and some shelving would make it more comfortable. Overall, this hotel offers great value, a peaceful atmosphere, and convenient access to activities. I’d definitely recommend it.
