Chocolate Fusión in La Fortuna offers a generally satisfying experience with some highlights and a few drawbacks. The Eggs Benedict were delicious, and adding hummus was no problem at all, which was a nice touch. The cappuccino and flat white tasted good, but unfortunately they were missing latte art. I assume this was because I chose soy milk instead of regular milk, but it was still disappointing to see what was possible on other tables. The coffee is quite pricey and, in my opinion, not really justified, especially the extra 900 colones charged for soy milk, which feels overpriced. On the sweet side, the velvet cake was excellent and very large, but we still managed to finish it. The chocolate itself was outstanding, though again on the expensive side. Positives worth mentioning are the free water and the very clean bathroom facilities. Inside, the café is quite cold, so I’d recommend bringing an extra layer to stay comfortable. Overall, despite the high prices, it was a satisfying experience with great food, coffee and chocolate.
Chocolate Fusión is a nice coffee, chocolate, and ice cream shop. We ended up visiting three times during our trip to La Fortuna, which says a lot. The chocolates are a bit on the expensive side, but the quality is very good. The ice cream was creamy and delicious. We tried different flavors each time, and all of them were great. One thing we noticed was that the price for ice cream was different each time we visited, which was a bit confusing. Overall, it’s a great spot for dessert or a sweet treat.
