About
Run by Shelly, who makes homemade pan-fried dumplings that Chinese travelers call genuinely authentic, served with a garlic sauce she mixes herself. The milk tea and fruit teas are the other draw, and she often throws in tea or dessert on the house. Ask about her family-style dinners. A few street-facing seats make it a good people-watching perch.

Dragonfly Cafe was such a delightful surprise. Besides their natural and refreshing milk tea, the owner Shelly also makes homemade pan-fried dumplings. As a Chinese person, I have to say her dumplings are surprisingly authentic. Paired with the garlic sauce she mixes herself, the flavor instantly took me back to China. Shelly is also incredibly warm, friendly, and humorous. Sitting in the cafe, enjoying the food and chatting with her made the whole visit even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of small place that feels both cozy and memorable. Highly recommend stopping by for the milk tea and the dumplings! The next day Shelly even share me with her latest handmade dessert, it’s delicious while not too sweet, worth a shot if you want to have some extra surprise here. Don’t forget, she can offer family style dinner as well, it can be very traditional Chinese that you could hardly imagine unless you are in China or whatever style as you order, just come and see yourself!
So, so delicious and very affordable! Please come here for authentic Chinese food! The dumplings are especially incredible. Shelly (the owner) and Olga (a woman who works for her) are both incredibly kind and good-hearted people!
Dumplings were great! The owner was very friendly and even let us try tea for free. Will definitely be going back if we are ever in Fortuna again
