About
On the quiet outskirts of La Fortuna, actually closer to the waterfall than to the town center, with a volcano view from the porch that guests describe as right in front of you. The cabins are clean with a small kitchen, comfortable beds, Netflix and solid WiFi, plus a small refreshing pool, and the owner is hands-on and helpful. You'll want a rental car, and note that daily room cleaning isn't included.

We stayed at Chang’s place in La Fortuna for 3 nights. The host was very good—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. The property itself is well maintained, and the room size was decent and comfortable. However, the bathroom was extremely small, and the shower was the biggest downside. The hot water shower is directly connected to an electric unit that is held only by a wire, which felt unsafe and uncomfortable to use. This really needs improvement. Another issue was that the property has a cat that constantly sits on the patio chairs. While we are generally kind to animals, we were uncomfortable as the cat stayed there all the time, leaving cat hair on the chairs, which made it difficult to use the patio. Also, daily room cleaning is not provided. Since we stayed for three nights, this would have been appreciated or at least clearly mentioned in advance. Overall, the place is decent and the host service is good, but the bathroom setup, shower safety, cleanliness of shared spaces, and lack of daily cleaning are areas that need improvement.
Stayed here two nights and it was a perfect relaxing spot. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed in the small kitchen. The bed is comfortable with good quality sheets and blankets. There is a TV with Netflix for the evenings and the wifi works well. AC is cool and shower is hot. The grounds are beautiful and the small pool was refreshing. The weather was cloudy most of the time we stayed but we did get a quick peek of the volcano. It’s RIGHT THERE. What a beautiful view! I spent a lot of time reading on the small terrace and bird watching. It is a bit out of La Fortuna, but we had a rental car and it was nice to stay away from the hustle and bustle.
This is a gem of a hotel located on the outskirts of La Fortuna. Our family rented the back two rooms with outdoor kitchen. It’s a great getaway from the main city and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. This hotel is closer to La Fortuna waterfall than the actual city. Recommend having a car rental as it’s too far to walk to the main city although there is a market and several restaurants within walking distance. Also the best part is that is has an amazing view of the Arenal Volcano from the porch. Highly recommend.
