Hotel Eco Arenal

Nice hotel away from all the hustle and bustle of Fortuna. Beautifully maintained grounds and nice area for breakfast with birds visiting while you eat. Rooms are clean spacious and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. I got my laundry done for $4. It's a bit of a walk to town but taxis are only about $4. Great restaurant across the street called Mary's which is open for lunch and dinner.

Very quiet hotel in the nice area. Garden and pool are nice. Rooms were basic but nicely decorated. We were 2+2 in the relatively small room (there were no normal bathroom, basin was next to the bed). What needs to be updated urgently are mattresses. They were terrible, we could feel each spring. Also, it would be nice if there was something, except the pool, for the kids in the hotel (games, cards...). The breakfast was basic, 4 morning absolutely the same choice.

Everything about this place was fantastic for our needs. Clean, aesthetically pleasing rooms. A great, free breakfast. And beautiful grounds. I would only recommend booking directly with the hotel rather than through a third party. We reserved through booking.com and had a mix-up that was difficult to resolve. Other than that, it was great! If you like pickleball, there's covered courts just a few blocks down the street!
