A family-run hotel where the back trail and gardens are the highlight, guests report sloths, toucans, hummingbirds, even an anteater on the grounds, with plant-filled walks a gardener would love. The couple who run it are warm and helpful, breakfast is good and affordable (the fresh cheese and bacon get a mention), and there's a pool. Rooms are clean with AC but on the older, sparser side.

Great place to stay, really enjoyed the trail in the back and the helpful, friendly service. Breakfast was good too. Saw ant eater, sloths and exotic birds on the trail. The location was convenient and close to many other attractions nearby, all within 30 minute drive.
This hotel sits in a beautiful setting and is close to La Fortuna shopping and dining. The rooms were very sparse; we asked for a fridge and got one. There was a coffee pot in the room and since we had to purchase coffee in the morning if we wanted a second cup, we bought what we needed and made do. The only complaint that I had was that we had no hot water and the fix for it gave us random hot water. The hotel grounds were very nice. There were so many varieties of plants that every walk was a gardening deligt.
We loved this place. Very friendly family run hotel. In the garden we saw a sloth very close to our room, he was there all day and next morning, a toucan by the pool and humming bird out the front. Best location for coffee tour, night wildlife tour and waterfall tour.
