About
The location is the pitch, about five minutes from downtown La Fortuna, ten from the free hot springs and fifteen from the volcano, with sodas and mini-supers within walking distance. Staff are genuinely helpful with transfers and shuttles, the gardens are lovely, and second-floor balconies catch the volcano on clear days. Be ready for two things: it's on a busy road, so bring earplugs for the traffic, and the rooms are dated.

Cute hotel with many local shops, sodas, Mini-Supers, and restaurants within walking distance. Although outside of La Fortuna proper, there was plenty around to keep us busy. There was a lot of traffic noise, even with the windows closed but it did not bother us. If you wake easily, a Mini-Super should have cotton or ear plugs. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff were so friendly. The gardens were gorgeous.
Our stay at Hotel Vista del Cerro was a good overall experience. The host and staff were genuinely helpful and made things easy for us from the start. They assisted with airport transfers and also helped book a shuttle for our trip to Tamarindo, which we really appreciated. The location is a big plus. It’s about a 5-minute drive from downtown, 15 minutes from the volcano, and around 25 minutes from Mistico Hanging Bridges. The free hot springs are also less than a 10-minute drive away, which made it very convenient. One of the highlights was being able to see the volcano right from our balcony. The only downside was the room itself. While it was comfortable, it felt a bit dated and had more of a 90s look rather than a modern feel. With a refresh, it could be even better. Overall, a solid stay with great service and an excellent location.
This hotel is located near the volcano and it is easy to get tours to pick you up from this location. The bathroom is typical in Costa Rica, however they do not provide shampoo or conditioner. It is pretty close to town. We walked to but it was a bit of a walk. There is air conditioning and it worked well.
