About
A big seafood-leaning restaurant on the north side of the square, known for ceviches, chifrijo, and octopus, plus daily specials worth timing your visit around — Tomahawk on Mondays, lobster and prime rib on Wednesdays. Portions run large and the drink list is long. There's even a little side room of vintage phones and gadgets to browse.

This restaurant is conveniently located on the north side of the square. It's quite large with some tables overlooking the road. Fonda serves a variety of ceviches and seafood. I was really tempted to try the burger yet I settled for the chifrijo. Portions are quite large so bring your appetite! Overall, food tasted great. They have an extensive drink menu as well.
Nice meal here. Recommended by our guide. The restaurant is slightly more pricey than some but had a nice atmosphere. We sat at the front at first but then more of our group came so we moved to the back, which wasn't as special. I had a big seafood salad. It looked amazing but was padded out with a large quantity of lettuce underneath. I think it could have had more prawns and calamari on for the price. They got confused with our separate bills but we got it sorted in the end. They have a bit of a museum at the side too, with old telephones and gadgets. Reminded me of my youth.
We drove by La Fonda 506 yesterday and it was packed so we took note. Tonight it was more mellow but I think it was because of the specials yesterday (lobster and prime rib on Wednesdays). Today/Thursday, I had the fish of the day and my dining companion had the Thursday special and both dishes were fantastic! My mixed drink was delicious. Remember that the yellow curb means you pay your park so we parked a block away.
