About
A warm, well-run lodge where the a la carte breakfast and the front-desk team, Melanie especially, are what guests keep praising; they'll arrange transport, loan umbrellas, even help you order pizza. Rooms are spacious with patios, and the deluxe balconies face the volcano when the clouds cooperate. It's quiet at night but a two-minute walk to the busy main street. Just remember it's the jungle, so the odd gecko comes with the setting.

We had such a great stay!! We had a standard room for 3 nights and it was definitely small, but totally fine when you're out and about all day. The bathroom was huge! There is an amazing a la carte breakfast every day and you can be in touch with the super kind staff by WhatsApp. They went above and beyond helping us order pizza, loaning umbrellas, and making a dinner reservation!! We almost got a good view of the volcano one day. The location is also amazing, quiet at night but a 2 min walk to the busy main street.
We really enjoyed the La Fortuna lodge! Our first step in the door and we met Melanie. She was great! She took care of us, was exceptionally friendly and informative. The breakfast was top notch, the location is perfect for walking to restaurants, great coffee and we even found a great running route with amazing views of the Arenal volcano! The rooms are spacious with patios. We totally recommend and would stay again!
The stay at La Fortuna Lodge was incredible! All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Helped me arrange transports and follow up on them when needed ( Tico time! ) The breakfast was delicious, and location to everything was quite desirable without being right in the center of all the action. 10 minutes walk or less to anywhere I needed, beautiful indoor/ outdoor setting and scenery all around you. Had a king sized bed, fridge, safe and tv in the room and a great sized bathroom. There was also a patio sitting area facing the volcano! Just remember you are in the jungle. Geckos hanging out, did have some small red ants, and a run in with a cockroach. It’s all a part of the adventure!
