The pizza is the reason to seek out Rooster inside the Mercadito Arenal food court — a flavorful, much-praised sauce and pies that win out even when a big group orders from every stall. Chef Fabian also turns out a notably tender grilled steak, prices stay reasonable, and the spot faces the volcano. In a shared food hall, this is the standout.

A 7,500 CRC dish (really), described as 'pesto pistachio pollo' with a photo showing penne, consisted of spaghetti with pesto, a junior chicken fillet (compare the size with the fork in the photo:), and no pistachio
