About
Steak over a wood fire is the signature — the mar y tierra and ribeye come cooked to the mark, and even the grilled plantain picks up that smoky char. Add the jalapeño salsa for a kick. Out back there's a small sloth park and a giant Perezoso sculpture bench made for photos. A couple of diners note the kitchen can run slow when it's busy.

Delicious food, excellent service, great atmosphere. Our server was amazing and the food was so good. We had ceviche, a tuna, main dish, and a grilled chicken main dish, and two craft beers each. Bill was about $100.
We came in at 11 to have lunch before the 12 noon coffee tour next door. The Pina Colata was good as well as other drinks. The service was slow to begin with but the kitchen took the cake on this one. They took the order at 11 but the food was not ready by 12noon. We finaly took take out. Another group next to us who came in at 11:05 also didnot get the food and were able to cancel the food order in order to make it to the 12 noon on time. Half way through our time, our server completely left us and started serving meals to a tour group that arrived there. We had to request service from 4 other servers. Donot go here if you want to be done within 2 hours.
This place is awesome!!! My wife and I went to Costa Rica to celebrate her birthday. We stayed at La Fortuna Retreat. We were in Costa Rica for a week. Half of the time spent in La Fortuna and the other half at Tamarindo. Our first dinner was at Reataunt El Perezoso. I ordered Mar Y Tierra from the menu and let me tell you, the meal was on point. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They grill the steak over wood fire and it makes the steak taste so much better. The shrimp also very delicious. They garnished the plate elegantly as well. The server provided me a bowl with mint leaves in water and squeezed lemon to clean my hands after eating the delicious shrimp. After this meal, I could not find a better meal elsewhere for the remainder of our trip. The wife agreed. I highly recommend this place. Oh... For a bonus, they have a sloth park right in their backyard, and a unique large bench with a giant Perezoso (sloth) sculpture behind it, perfect for pictures.
