About
A soda with a Caribbean accent, and that's the whole appeal — casados where the rice and beans are cooked in coconut milk and the plantains are fried with cinnamon and spice. The Caribbean lemonade, laced with coconut milk, gets its own devotees, and portions run big. There's a large vegan and vegetarian menu, and the women who run it treat you like family.

Our favorite soda in La Fortuna and we've been to Vieques, Horminga, and Lulu. The Caribbean twist to the food makes a Casado super special. Ordered a couple of Caribbean rice and beans (Caribbean Casado) and a Caribbean lemonade. The lemonade has coconut milk and really kicked it up to a different level. The Caribbean Casado are awesome. The rice and beans are cooked in coconut milk and the fried plantains are fried in cinnamon and spices. The food tasted like great homestyle food and the ladies who run the ship are warm and kind. We loved our meal here and think you will to. Big bonus: huge vegetarian and vegan menu!
Best cansado i ate in whole costa rica. Big portion and if you order caribbean cansado they add coconut milk to rice and beans and its so good. And here is only place they have good choice of lemonade and they are all delicious!
Amazing food with a blend of Caribbean and Costa Rican style. The best meals we had in the country. A definite local gem with excellent service. Pictured is the rice and beans (one with chicken and one with shrimp), as well as horchata and a lemon ginger coconut drink.
