Set back from the road in the forest, mi Tierrita is the kind of family spot people return to morning after morning — one group came six times in three days. Traditional rice and beans, breakfasts served on time before early tours, and staff who go out of their way. Come at night with a flashlight; the path is kept dark for nearby night tours, and you might spot a sloth.

We were in La fortuna for 3 days and came 6 times to this restaurant. Between breakfast and dinner, every meals was absolutely delicious! Their food is really tasty and the service flawless - all Ticos are kind and helpful but in their restaurant all the staff exceed expectations. We had to rush one of the breakfasts because of an early scheduled tour, and they were really lovely serving us on time.
We really enjoyed eating here every morning! We even got to see a sloth!
Set back in the forrest away from the road. Staff was fun, food was perfect. Traditional rice beans, Palatine! Short one minute walk from our AirBnB.
