About
Run by owners who spent decades in Italy — originally from Rome — La Forchetta brings genuinely good wood-fired pizza to downtown La Fortuna, the dish diners call the standout. Fresh pastas, gluten-free options, a light tiramisu, and good wine round it out, and the owner often stops by the table. A few dishes run heavy on the oil, but it's a warm, reliable pick for Italian food.

We had dinner at this Italian restaurant in downtown La Fortuna, run by owners who spent 40+ years in Italy. The wood-fired pizza was genuinely good — not the ultra-thin traditional style, but fresh, flavorful, and easily the standout of the night. The focaccia had a bit too much salt on top, but once we scraped some off, it was decent. Our group of six also ordered three pastas: penne arrabbiata, fresh pappardelle with Alfredo and a side of pesto, and aglio e olio. All were solid, and it’s great that they offer gluten-free options. We also shared a bottle of wine and a classic tiramisu, which was light and enjoyable. The owner stopped by our table, which added a personal touch, and the staff were warm and attentive. Some dishes were a little heavy on the oil, but overall, if you’re looking for good Italian food in La Fortuna — especially pizza — this is a friendly and reliable choice.
A little bit of Italy feel when eating there. The owner is Italian and brings now how to La Fortuna. I have to agree with other recessions that the food is on the oilier side. Good wine though.
Small, local italian restaurant owned by Italians , originally from Rome. Loved the ambiance , food and hospitality ! The owner is very humble and we have one of the Best Freshly made pizza. Highly recommended!!!!
