Our family visited in February 2026 and had the best time! We did the Sloth Tour & Coffee, Chocolate and Sugar Cane. Our tour guide was Melvin and he was fantastic. I'm so glad we had a tour guide, because we would have never spotted the sloths on our own. We loved every part of the tour. We saw sloths, toucans, frogs, lizards, leaf cutter ants, bats, etc. All of us also loved the chocolate, sugar cane, and coffee demonstrations. We were surprised by how much our kids liked the coffee presentation in particular. They all tried some for the first time. They didn't love coffee, but definitely loved the hands-on process to make it.

Alex is the best guide and so knowledgeable about all the different ecosystems in CR! I did several guided tours with him including the coffee/chocolate and Rio Celeste waterfall! I appreciate how much fun he made the trip and the great laugh we shared when I was the only person in our group to try the mud mask! We found sloths on our way back to La Fortuna and he spent a lot of time helping us view through his scope and educated us on the two different species. I also did the La Fortuna waterfall hike, Arenal Volcano hike, and the natural thermal hot springs with this company and I cannot recommend them enough! I was so thrilled with how amazing the natural springs were and they were so clean! I had a different guide for that tour but equally as great!

My wife and I took the combo La Fortuna Waterfall and guided sloth tour. Having been to both La Paz Waterfall (probably the best waterfall experience) and Blue Falls/Catarata del Toro, doing the 530 steps up and down to this waterfall was unnecessary. The sloth tour, on the other hand, was exceptional! Definitely take a guided tour for best ability to see sloths (and use their scopes to get best pictures/videos). We also saw a beautiful lizard. So definitely take the guided sloth tour…only do the waterfall if you haven’t yet seen any.
