One of La Fortuna's most popular sodas — busy, chaotic, and homelike, and worth the crowd. The casados (chicken, steak, vegetarian) come with tasty sides, the sea bass with garlic and veggies gets singled out, and the soursop and mango juices are a highlight. Many meals end with a complimentary rice pudding and an optional free shot. Authentic Costa Rican cooking, friendly service, fair prices.

Lovely spot with great food, excellent and friendly service and good prices. I’m glad I followed reviews on google and Reddit- I see why everyone loves. The complimentary rice pudding was delicious dessert surprise. I didn’t take the free shot but that’s a nice extra others will enjoy. Highly recommend the bass with garlic which comes with lots of veggies and salad. Excellent!
We visited Soda Viquez and ordered the avocado salad, vegetarian casado, vegetarian sandwich, and a soursop drink. Everything tasted really good and felt fresh. The place was very packed, which shows how popular it is, but the food was definitely worth it. If you’re looking for authentic Costa Rican cuisine, this is a great spot. We really enjoyed our meal!
For a soda, the ambiance was what it was, busy, chaotic, welcoming, and homelike — we loved it. Food was excellent. We ate well. Service was friendly. Every single dish we had was good. Chicken Casado, steak Casado, chicken with rice — all were really good and the sides, they were tasty and went really well with the protein. Chicken was well cooked and juicy. Steak was decent. I would go back for a second meal.
