A friendly family restaurant where the daily special (around 4,000 colones with a drink) and dishes like the Casado de pescado and Cordon Bleu win people over, often with complimentary yuca fries while you wait. Staff like Manuel go out of their way — one even dug through the trash to recover a guest's dental retainer. Cash only (colones or USD); note the sign now also reads Hormigas.

We had an excellent experience at Brasas del Arenal. Manuel was very kind and attentive to us. We tried the Casado de pescado and Cordon Bleu. Both dishes were SO good. We were also brought complimentary yuca fries while we were waiting. I forgot to take a photo of the menu but it was $28 for 2 juices and 2 dinners. Average cost of a meal is ~$10. Overall, I highly recommend coming here!

Food was really good, reasonable prices! Staff was super nice and friendly. Unfortunately for me, I forgot my Invisalign there in a napkin so it was thrown away. I went back and the staff went through the garbage to find it! Thank you so much, that would be so unfortunate to lose it in the middle of vacation.

This has been my spot since being here in La Fortuna. The service is so friendly and pleasant. But the FOOD is what brings me back everyday. The presentation is wonderful and the taste leaves you wanting more. So happy I found this place 🙌🏽😎 “Pura vida” 🍻
