Sunny's is a small, owner-run Indian restaurant where Sunny himself often cooks and serves — he's been in La Fortuna a decade and has run the place for five years. Diners who eat Indian back home call it the best they've had: fresh, generous, with spices well integrated rather than just heat. The daal, aloo gobi, and chicken korma get named, and he makes the paneer in house.

We loved going to Sunny’s. I’m vegan and my sister is vegetarian, and this is the best Indian food we’ve ever had. We eat Indian all the time in Chicago- this is so fresh and the portions are so generous. The owner has had the restaurant for 5 years and lived in La Fortuna for 10 after meeting his wife, who is from here. The smells coming out of the kitchen are unreal- come visit! We got the daal curry and the aloo gobi and both were phenomenal.
Delicious authentic freshly made food served by the owner himself (who is actually an Indian). Amazing time, delicious food, great atmosphere! I came here with my Indian friend who enjoyed a little piece of home ☺️
One of the best in the area. Felt like a homemade meal. When I asked for spicy the spices were well integrated into the dishes as opposed to throwing chilli to make it spicy . Worth the money !!
