Amigo Rent a Car

Rented a car for 9 days here and can't recommend enough! We booked via Discovercars and thought if that was really the price? 215 usd for 9 days for an economic car including insurance. YES, IT WAS. In included the 3rd party liability which a company like Sixt DON'T accept if booked on a 3rd party site. The employee was super friendly and pickup/drop off was fast. Apple Carplay/Android Auto and AC which is obviously a MUST in Costa Rica. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience renting a car with Amigo from San Jose and dropping it off a few days later in Tamarindo. We had a modern car with CarPlay and good AC. Just make sure you’re prepared with requirements (e.g. a credit (not debit) card for the deposit, and remember in Costa Rica it is the law to take our proper 3rd party insurance so be prepared to pay a bit more)
