A shaded, all-outdoor breakfast-and-lunch spot that longtime regulars return to year after year for the tipico plate, eggs Benedict on avocado toast, and a banana-espresso smoothie people rave about. Specialty coffee drinks are the other draw, and there's a house hot sauce in an unlabeled jug worth trying. The woman running it is remembered as warm and attentive.

¡Muy delicioso! Not quite so hidden anymore, this little spot has huge flavor and fresh options. I have been coming to Cafe Tico for five years now and I am in love with this place. Breakfast or lunch or just for a drink, it is a must stop when in Tamarindo. Very kid friendly and accessible. I always get a specialty coffee drink or smoothie with my breakfast/brunch/lunch here. All outdoor seating but mostly shaded. Thank you!
Best breakfast we have had in town. Typical plate is exactly what it should be. The eggs Benedict was great on the avocado toast. Unique specials for food and drinks too. Definitely worth checking out.
Service was not good. Did my eggs wrong. I asked for over easy and they gave me sunny side up. I don't like sunny side up. They forgot my mom's meal entirely. By the time she got it, the rest of my family was done our food and she had to eat alone. They also forgot about the eggs that were supposed to come with my waffle. At least they gave banana bread as q peace offering. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here unless you like burnt bacon and bad service.
