About
A beachfront boutique hotel at the quiet southern end of Playa Tamarindo, its pool set in lush gardens where guests routinely spot howler monkeys, iguanas, and dozens of birds without leaving the grounds. Breakfast is served on the beach with an omelette bar, the gentle waves out front are ideal for first surf lessons, and many guests return year after year. The family-owned staff are the reason why.

Capitan Suizo is the sort of hotel you never want to leave; and with amenities including restaurant, pool, gym, beach at hand, you don't have to. Located just 15 minute walk from central Tamarindo, at the quieter end of Playa Tamarindo, and nestled in a lush tropical gardens. Included buffet breakfast on the beach was stunning. Staff were extraordinary in attending to every detail imaginable. Rooms were spacious, and well appointed. Access to a well equipped gym nearby was a bonus. Thanks to Irving, Cristian, Tom, Oscar, Raquel and rest of the hard working staff for a memorable stay.
I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. It was the kind of place where you check in and then never want to leave. Every single staff member was so friendly and accommodating, from check in staff to restaurant to gardeners. We had the garden view room but could still hear the ocean, it was so relaxing. We had several lunches on-site and were pleased with the quality and value for money. We will definitely return!
Satisfied stay! This boutique hotel feels very safe and is perfectly located just off the main drag, walking distance to restaurants and the local grocery store, but away from the chaos. No TVs, very clean rooms, and excellent A/C. Beach access plus a large, pool (kid friendly) Front desk service is phenomenal, they even prepared breakfast to-go for our 6:45 AM free diving trip. Tiffany, the concierge, is awesome and knows all the best restaurants (she can book resv). They have surfboard rentals on property when the waves are up. Breakfast is included and decent, but could use more protein options. Rooms don’t have quick coffee/espresso machines, and the fridge selection is just one bottle of water. Food onsite is good, though the bar can get overwhelmed at night, limited staff. Great service, great location, and a relaxed Costa Rica vibe.
