Economy Rent a Car

Every time we need a car, we always work with the amazing team at economy. Their service is incredible and the pricing is fantastic. No shenanigans. Multiple times we’ve had flat tires and they’ve taken care of us for no fee. Always friendly and helpful. Minor is our guy. Tell him I sent you. :)

Very disappointing experience with Economy Rent a Car, especially this location. We called ahead because we were running slightly late for our 5pm return and were told at the time of pickup in san jose that we could return the vehicle after 5:00pm in Tamarindo. Even written and signed in our final contract form. We arrived and the office in Tamarindo at 5:30PM, it was already closed, forcing us to return the car the next morning at 9am. We were specifically told we would not be charged for an extra day, yet we still were. Without any communication. We did NOT use it an extra day, but they charged us all of the fees, including the forced insurances. To make matters worse, we returned the car with a completely full tank of gas even though it was only around 3/4 full when we picked it up, hoping they would simply settle the difference instead of charging an extra day we never actually used. They did not. On top of that, we were forced to purchase their insurance even though we already had Amex rental coverage. This is exactly the kind of company that gives rental agencies a bad name. They do not care about customer loyalty or repeat business. They squeeze every dollar they can out of you while you are there and once they have your money, that’s the end of it. We would not rent from Economy again, especially this location, given the competitors here offer much more care to their clients satisfaction.

Excellent service & personal care given, especially for one traveling alone. Vehicle was delivered to my hideout & when I woke to a flat tire, after angels from UP, Michigan changed it out, the rental agency responded & ensuring the tire was safe. Had a small nail. English or Spanish available. Highly recommend. 🕊️💟🕉️
