Fish and Cheeses

Great spot! Homemade pasta with very large portions and even italian staff. They also have a nice selction of wines and italian goods in their shop. Matteo if you are reading this, I will pay for your dinner bello!

We were really excited about this place given the great reviews, but ended up pretty disappointed, especially given how expensive the whole meal was compared to other restaurants. I ordered the lobster ravioli, and didn’t even finish it because it didn’t really taste like lobster, it was dry on the inside and drenched in oil on the outside. The assorted cheese platter with honey appetizer was delicious though, and the chocolate gelato was pretty good. But none of it was worth the price in our opinion. The server was absolutely lovely though and the place looks really nice.

My husband and are visiting Tamarindo from Canada and are staying across the street from Fish and Cheeses . We had been recommended to dine here but hadn’t made it during our first few days. We tried to go last night but did not have a reservation snd they were full so we made one for this evening. We went tonight - mostly out of convenience and not knowing what to expect. The meal we had tonight was hands down the best meal we have had since we arrived. The service was friendly and prompt. The food - from appetizers, to mains, to dessert were all incredible. The wine selection was also amazing. Their homemade pasta, pizza, and mozzarella must be tried! The ambiance of the restaurant is also unmatched. We made another reservation for our final supper before we fly home.
