Harry's El Escondite

My bf and I recently visited Tamarindo and stayed at Harry’s El Escondite cabinas. Harry met with us and gave us his housekeeping rules which were straightforward. We stayed in the Blue Cabina. The space was perfect for us with a King bed, kitchen, washroom and our own lounge area inside and outdoors. There were hammocks (which I took full advantage of) and a shared pool. Harry maintained the pool area everyday to ensure it was clean. He had an outdoor shower to rinse off(which he recommended before jumping into the pool). The A/C unit helped a great deal in the 33+ heat. The area was close to the beach (less than a 10 min walk) and all shops, restaurants, grocery stores and bars. Everything you need in arms reach! For the cost of stay, it was definitely one of the best budget friendly places to stay. We will return again and happy to stay at Harry’s cabinas again! “Pura Vida!”♥️

The previous reviews stole the words right out of my mouth. Harry is a great host who likes to have a good time, but also values your privacy. I spent 3 weeks there and was already planning on coming back to Harry’s halfway through my visit. The rooms are great. The pool is wonderful. The location was perfect for this introvert with a bad knee (close to town but a hidden gem). And lots of other nice little touches. I’ll definitely be back to that surf shack!!!

Loved the week we stayed at Harry’s. Cabinas are clean and cute; have everything we needed. Not resort style. More like a place you would live in if you did live there. Short walk to the beach and centre of town yet, enough distance to provide a little oasis. Chill place to relax at the end of the day and as Harry says, “get in the pool!” ;)
