About
LUV is a modern, spotless Tamarindo bar attached to a hotel, run by hosts Greg and Katie, whose hospitality is the thing travelers remember — reopening the cabinet after hours, sharing a signature Costa Rican drink, chatting for an hour. The espresso martini gets named as one of the best, and small touches like real amarena cherries on a metal skewer stand out. A relaxed alternative to the club-like bars nearby.

Stop at the bar for my last drinks of the night. Nikki and sometimes the owner is there. Always pleasant and reasonable.
Tasty food and drinks! Stopped in with a couple friends to find the place pretty quiet, which was a shame, because the food and drink were both in the higher quality end of Tamarindo's offerings. Bartender had some fun flair making the drinks, and it turns out he's a pretty good cook too! The real metal skewer for the REAL amarena cherries was a nice touch too. We spent a while chatting with Greg and Katie as well, they're extremely hospitable hosts, and extremely knowledgeable about Tamarindo! Was a great experience overall, and the decor and general ambiance was enjoyable! Just wish I lived in CR so I could visit more often
We were staying nearby and happened to walk into this bar just as they were closing. The owner, Greg, greeted us warmly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Not only did he reopen the liquor cabinet to serve us, but he also spent time chatting with our group of five, answering all our questions about the bar and the connected hotel. Katie was equally wonderful, even treating us to her signature Costa Rican drink. The bar itself is spotless, modern, and exudes an upscale vibe without being pretentious. While their incredible hospitality alone would bring us back, the relaxed atmosphere is a refreshing contrast to the more club-like bars in the area.
