About
Mariajuana is a Latin-American restobar a five-minute walk from the beach in Tamarindo, built around seafood — the BBQ platter piles up grilled fish, shrimp, octopus, tuna and mussels, and the dorado draws best-fish-of-the-trip reviews. The ceviche is extra-tart, the passion-fruit juice a standout, and the beer comes cold. Server Gabriel gets named repeatedly for genuine hospitality.

One of the best meals we’ve enjoyed in Costa Rica! This charming, unassuming restaurant is just a five-minute walk from the beach and truly exceeded our expectations. We ordered the Seafood BBQ with the tropical salad and potatoes, and everything was delicious. It’s a lot of seafood, but the balance of flavors was perfect! The beer is cold and the margaritas were great! Gabriel was an outstanding server. He was attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable with his genuine hospitality.
My partner and I (both from England) really enjoyed the BBQ for two and the locally flavoured lagers. The service was quick and very attentive. Deffo worth a visit!
An unforgettable seafood feast in Tamarindo This restaurant is truly a gem in Tamarindo — the kind of place where the flavors, atmosphere, and service all come together perfectly. The seafood platter was nothing short of spectacular: fresh grilled fish, juicy shrimp, tender octopus, seared tuna, mussels, and perfectly roasted vegetables, all complemented by a refreshing salad. Every bite tasted like the ocean, with that extra touch of creativity and seasoning that makes it memorable. A special mention goes to Gerald and Gabriel, whose friendly energy and attentive service made the experience even better. They anticipated everything we needed without us having to ask, gave great recommendations, and made us feel like welcome guests rather than just customers. If you’re in Tamarindo and want an incredible seafood experience with warm, genuine service, this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be coming back!
