Matapalo sits right on the sand at the Tamarindo Diria, with ocean views and shade from a big Guanacaste tree — travelers call it one of the prettier places to eat in town, sometimes with a mariachi band. The sesame-crusted tuna steak earns the strongest food praise, alongside the ceviche. It's a beautiful setting best approached for the views and a light bite.

Beautiful beach side location in the Tamarindo Diria resort with excellent beach and ocean views from the uncovered patio section. The sesame-crusted tuna steak was excellent, though slightly under cooked in parts (medium). Full bar with average beach front prices. Decent service. A great place to unwind and socialize with friends.
Enjoyed a delicious meal under the Guanacaste tree next to the beach. Wonderful ambience with the cresting waves. Had the tuna which was so good along with the ceviche, gazpacho and Diria burger. Probably one of the nicest places to eat in Tamarindo. Having a mariachi band play for us with a definite treat.
During our stay we spent some time in the beach side area pools and had only the best service from Brenda!! She made our time extra special and was always on the spot with drinks or help. Great job Brenda until our next stay, Thank you Troy and Shannon.
