About
Naans & Curries is the place in Tamarindo for authentic Punjabi Indian food — South Asian travelers show up skeptical and leave mind-blown. The chicken bhuna masala with bullet naan, the butter chicken and the samosas recur, and the carrot halwa and bread pudding get singled out for dessert. There are two rooms, air-conditioned or open-air, and the service earns steady praise.

Didn’t expect much for an Indian restaurant in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, but my husband and I (both South Asian) were mind-blown! We went for lunch on a weekday and there was only one other person there so we were hesitant but glad we saw it through. We got chicken bhuna masala and bullet naan and it was one of the best meals we ever had. We loved it so much that we came back the next day for dinner and ordered more food! We got biryani this time, which was alright. But the stars were the desserts, we got the carrot halwa and bread pudding, both absolutely incredible. This is the place to get AUTHENTIC and flavorful Indian food. Just sad that we can’t taste it again until we visit Costa Rica again :/
This was our Last night in Costa Rica and it was also my bday so my GF and I decided to try Naans & Curries. It was everything we needed for a special occasion. Everything we tried was extremely delicious (we had chicken & veggie samosas, butter chicken, tikka masala chicken and garlic naan). The staff also had exceptional service and was extremely friendly. I also got a cake!!! I highly recommend!!!
As their tagline says, it truly was the best authentic/ethnic Punjabi food we’ve had in a long time. Everything from the ambience to the snacks they offered, the food, and the service was absolutely top-notch. We tried their naans, kadai paneer, samosas, salt lassi, and even the kids’ pasta, every single item was delicious. If you’re looking for truly authentic Indian food with great ambience and excellent service in Tamarindo, this place is a must-visit. Highly, highly recommended.
