My friend and I went for the day (beach club) and loved it! We were well taken care of by Giovanni and Gabriel. They were very attentive, brought us our drinks, allowed us to practice our Spanish, told us funny jokes. They made the ambience and made us feel welcomed and take care of. The place itself is beautiful! Beautiful view of the beach from the day beds and from the secluded pool. The pool was the perfect temperature and not crowded. Loved it! The only downside was the music, when I’m in a county, I like to listen to their music.

Ocho Beach Bar is an amazing sunset spot in Tamarindo — even if you’re not staying at the hotel. As an external guest you can choose between a sunbed rental ($25/day) or a day pass ($45) (the day pass includes a cocktail and access to the big round beds). Honestly, these are some of the most comfortable sunbeds I’ve found in Tamarindo. Service was excellent: the staff is genuinely kind and checks in regularly without being intrusive. The rental also includes a large, comfy towel, and you can use the freshwater pool in the back area, which is a great bonus. Food and drinks were very good (menu isn’t huge, but what they serve is done really well). I can recommend the poke bowl with tuna, mango, avocado and veggies — super fresh and tasty. On weekends there’s a DJ from around 4 PM, playing chill tech-house that fits perfectly with the beach vibe. Tip: arrive early if you want a good spot — it fills up quickly (I came early and people were already there). Overall, a top place to relax, eat well, and watch the sunset. Highly recommended.

We’ve made this our local “sunset & happy hour” spot coming at least once/week for the last 5 weeks while staying in Tamarindo for 2 months. Kenia, Gio, and especially Ilsa, from our very first visit have been AMAZING!!! The food & drinks are delicious, and in the very best spot for sunset. But Ilsa has truly gone over and beyond to make our stay in Tamarindo phenomenal (and we’re not even staying at their hotel!) She’s a true gem, a hard worker and cares deeply for each guests’ experience. Muchos Gracias to you all, especially Ilsa! You make this a special place!
