Pierre and Colors Tamarindo

We arrived weary from a long day of travel and our host, Marie, the owner could not have been more accommodating. They have worked hard to create a serene and peaceful sanctuary. I was surprised it was cash only but that was my fault because my number on Booking. It wasn't an issue as it is easy to get cash these days. I would avoid booking.com and contact the owners directly to have the best communication. When at the hotel communication was instant using What'sApp. I think anyone who travels or communicates internationally uses this App to communicate. Marie was a great resource for recommendations as well. We loved our room, it was all that is needed. I will take peace and serenity over TV any day. It is a bit of a walk to town when very hot but we were just fine and in our mid 60's. Marie let us keep our car secure after we checked out so we could spend the day in town and at the beach. We loved the town and food options but it was nice to return to the serenity of the hotel. The place is truly lovely with original art and absolutely pristine. We hope to return and stay in a studio or apartment for a longer period of time.

The place looks nice from the photos but the energy is really uptight. When we were there the hosts were constantly arguing with other guests, and nitpicking minor things. Worse, they actually unlawfully entered our room without permission! Airbnb agreed with us, and refunded our money, and we left 2 days early. The check-in process is almost 30 min, where they show you how to turn on every light, faucet etc. - which is all common sense. Beds are really uncomfortable. Not super close to the beach. I almost never leave reviews but just giving people a heads up, if you want a relaxed easy going vacation, don't stay here. You can read there are other similar reviews. I am sure that the hosts will reply with a bunch of reasons, but in the end the evidence is there that Airbnb officially reviewed, and sided with us that there was a violation of security.

Marie is so lovely and attentive! Our apartment was spotless and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves a bit. The pool was very private. Very walkable to the beach and everywhere else, but still quiet 🙂
