A sports bar where the owner tends to stop by your table to make sure you're set, and games — NFL especially — draw a crowd to the outdoor tables. Regulars come for 2-for-1 margaritas, wings and the easy energy, sometimes with monkeys passing through the trees overhead. Reviews are more united on the drinks and hospitality than on the kitchen, so keep it simple with the bar favorites.

We have found an overall “mixed bag” in Tamarindo restaurants on food quality, service and value. We stopped in at Michael’s Sports Bar on January 25, 2026 hoping for some good food and drinks while watching the Patriots and Broncos NFL game. It was crowded, but we found an exterior table. My wife and I shared chicken wings and a salad and 2 for 1 margaritas. Everything was great and the pricing was very fair. The service was very good and the owner stopped several times to make sure we were satisfied with food and service. Even the monkeys like to visit here (overhead) in the afternoon. Highly Recommended.
Amazing service. We met the owner right when we sat down and he was so friendly. Fun sports bar atmosphere. Highly recommend you stop by for a drink
The food was terrible. Save your money. We went there to watch the football game and got the chicken fingers and fries and nachos. The best part was the beer and game.
